 GORGEOUS ROYAL PURPLE AMETHYST AND MARCASITE STERLING SILVER RING. 925. RICH COLOURS. HEAVY!

This piece is absolutely striking! A great colour combination of the deep, royal purple of the amethysts with the glint of marcasites set within shining sterling silver of different textures is classic. 4 round faceted claw set amethysts are set in a cross, with a fifth in the centre. 4 genuine marcasites, surrounded by a textured silver ruff, are bezel set in between the 'arms'. The openwork between the gemstones allows for light refraction of the amethysts, and creates interest. The 925 sterling silver hallmark appears. The ring head is 16mm in diameter, and sits on a very solid sterling silver shank, and is raised to sit 6mm from the surface of the finger. The 925 hallmark indicating genuine sterling silver appears on the underside of the ring. The colours of these amethysts are wonderful - a very deep, rich, royal purple - stunning on the finger! The ring design is vintage in appeal and although "previously loved" is not a very old piece. No signs of wear or even buff marks. I bought three pieces together in the same design. The necklace and earrings are also up for bidding today on Crazy Wednesday.
