The Inspiron 17R (N7110) has a variety of connection options available, including two USB 3.0 ports (blue), a USB 2.0 (black), eSATA/ USB 2.0 combo, audio, 3-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, MS), VGA, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. There's also a 1.0-megapixel HD webcam so you can video chat in high res style. The 500GB hard drive spins at a slower 5,400rpm; at this price point I would have liked to have seen a 7,200rpm hard drive.

2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce GT 525M graphics chip with Optimus (more below). Its second-generation Intel Core i CPU and memory helped its showing on our PCMark Vantage test, scoring 6,036 points. The Samsung RC512-S02, which has a more advanced Intel
