The Dell Streak 5 tablet runs Android 2.2 (Froyo) with capability to upgrade over the air and it is powered by a 1GHz Scorpion processor (Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon) and a 512MB SDRAM. The Streak 5 features a 5-inch multi-touch screen WVGA display (800 x 480) with Corningî Gorillaî Glass, a 5 Megapixels auto focus camera with two LED flash, a VGA front-facing camera, a removable battery (1530 mAh), HDMI port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 2GB MicroSD internal memory (not accessible by the user), and a MicroSD card slot (16GB pre-installed). For connectivity, the Streak 5 has WLAN 802.11b/g, USB 2.0, and Bluetoothî2.0 with EDR. Since it is also a smartphone, it supports the following bands: GSM / EDGE 1900 / 1800 / 900 / 850 MHz, UMTS 2100 / 1900 / 850 MHz, and HSDPA / HSUPA:HSDPA 7.2 Mbps / HSUPA 5.76 Mbps. It also has a capacitive sensor keys, GPS, e-compass, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor.

The Dell StreakâÃÂÂÂÂÂÃÂÂÂÂÂs design is quite soothing and clean. Even though the screen is glossy, the quality of the display is still decent when used inside a lighted room. Dell equipped the Streak with Stage software (details) so you can have an easy access to the apps, videos, music, web, and social networking. Users can also add or delete Stage Widgets because it is possible to customize the StreakâÃÂÂÂÂÂÃÂÂÂÂÂs home screen.

The 1GHz Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processor is fast and responsive and pinch-to-zoom is not a problem at all. You can also simultaneously multi-task 4 to 5 apps without a problem.

The 5 Megapixels rear auto-focus camera with two LED flash is bigger than most tablets today and it supports 720p HD video recording. Pictures taken using the rear camera in macro is a bit overexposed, but it can be solved when the LED flash is turned off.

Unlike the 7-inch Galaxy Tab that uses an earphone to make a phone call, the Dell Streak 5 can be used as a regular smartphone when making a call that is why the Streak is equipped with proximity sensor. The call quality was really good even with the presence of background noise.
