Delosperma napiforme Seeds Delosperma is a rather large genus of succulents with over 100 species. It can be found from southern South Africa, up to Zimbabwe and even as far as Arabia. Most of the species are subshrubs or of a trailing habit. This genus also boasts the most frost resistant mesembs, Delosperma cooperi and D. nubigenum. They will survive -17°C or even less. In general, plants from this genus are to a lesser degree susceptible to overwatering. Delosperma napiforme, also known as Mestoklema macrorrhizum, is a dwarf perennial plant, native to the French Island of Réunion, but also now found in Madagascar. It has white flowers and forms an underground caudex. The plants are often raised out of the ground to expose the interesting root system.
