Review from gamer:
After sitting through the introduction which was OK, and then the second introduction which wasn't quite so good (there are some serious lip-syncing issues) and then *ANOTHER* introduction I got to the first level. There is a briefing screen which is very reminiscant of "Syphon Filter" and then finally I was in the game.
I spent a little while getting used to the controls but it is quite intuitive. The left stick is like the cursor keys on a keyboard and the right stick is like a mouse. There's even an option to "Invert the y-axis" of the right stick so my friend AL will be happy.
The graphics are quite good for a PSOne game. I would say better than "Syphon Filter" but not quite as good as "Metal Gear". The lighting in general is very atmospheric if a little too dark. The guns that you can fire are truly fantastic and they look better than the guns in the PC version of Delta Force and other FPS's which I would never have expected.
There are two goggle modes on top of the normal vision. They are night vision and infra red. The night vision looks just like you see on TV on the news and the infra red reminds me of "Predator vision". The bad guys look a bit ugly but I guess that's just the PSOne for you. Explosions are nice and you can even shoot out the lights!
Sounds and music are suitable and if you turn the TV up loud then the gun shots are VERY satisfying!
Overall I would say that this is an excellent game. You can play it as a quick shooter or you can take your time and be very tactical and stealthy. Personally I am happy to go through shooting everything (which was fine until I ran into a hostage) but the scope is there to spend a long time on each mission.
Definitely the best FPS on the PSOne...it should teach the PS2 developers a thing or two! "
