Easy, accurate speaker setup
Denon also included Audyssey MultEQ®, a sophisticated auto-calibration system that helps you get the most accurate home theatre sound possible. Just plug in the included microphone and place it in up to six different seats in your home theatre room. The '1708 analyzes the sound from each listening position, then automatically adjusts level, equalization, and delay settings for each of your speakers. You get precise surround sound across a wide listening area.

1080p-compatible HDMI switching, component video conversion
If you've got an HDTV with only one HDMI input, you'll appreciate this receiver's 1080p-compatible HDMI switching. Hook up your HD satellite receiver and a high-def disc player via HDMI and switch between them, while maintaining pristine picture quality for both. Component video conversion allows you to route all of your analog video sources to your TV using only one component video connection. This simplifies hookup, streamlines switching, and maintains the best picture for every analog video source in your system.
