Blurb....................: A stupendous presentation with much indepth background, illustration, biography and portraiture. 270 lovely cards, very neatly stuck in. All of the German colonies are well represented with particular strength for Ost Afrika, Togo, Kamerun, Sud Wes Afrika. Smaller places like the Bismarck Archipel, Caroline & Marshall islands, Samoa, Kaichou, Kaiser Wilhelm's Land are also well represented. Many aspects of colonial affairs are present including topographical with lovely scenery, colonial & native architecture, ethnics with portraits, groups, costume, customs, implements; economic factors - shipping & other transport, crops, industries, resources; flora and fauna with many wild beasts; administration and military with much martial content. Of merit as a presentation & collection of cards and as an expression of great national pride. Useful to the student and collector of all things German and colonial. Lovely item in virtually "as new" condition. There are no markings, inscriptions or labels present nor removed. So good & fresh it might have been made yesterday! The colour of the covers is much more of a yellow tan than seems in the scans. The cover embossing is far more crisp and raised than appears in the scans. Only the very most demanding & fastidious buyer will be dis-satisfied with this extravagance of museum quality.
