Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum) is a spring-flowering perennial that blankets  in a carpet of starry white blossoms and an unmistakable aroma. It has many colourful folk names, including Buckrams, Devil's Garlic, Ramsons,  Cows's leek & Wood garlic,
The flowers are white, and star-shaped with six petals. They grow in rounded, globe-like clusters (umbels) at the end of a single green stalk.
An edible plant, and can be used as substitute for garlic and chives in cooking. This attractive plant is ideal for the herb garden, as both the leaves and flowers can be used in salads and other dishes.
The flowers are completely edible and have a mild but distinct garlic-and-onion flavor. They are often used as a decorative garnish for salads or floating atop soups.
In Victorian floriography (the language of flowers), garlic flowers represented good fortune, prosperity, and unity.
Very striking when mass-planted in your garden to create a stunning display.
It can be used as an edging plant, along a pathway and displayed in a rockery. Drought -resistant , low-maintenance and easy to grow.  The crushed leaves may be used to help cure sinus headaches and to discourage moles from the garden (by their strong smell). The smell repels fleas, ticks and mosquitoes when crushed on the skin
