UV400
Although UV (Ultraviolet) light is invisible to human eye, its effect can be observed. An example is sun tanning – the process of skin darkening as a result of exposure to UV light. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation, however, can result in various health conditions, particularly ocular diseases, including eye cancer. To minimize harmful effects of UV light one should always wear sunglasses that provide adequate UV protection. Children and toddlers should also wear sunglasses outdoors as like adults, they are not naturally immune to UV radiation.
Our sunglasses comply with UV400 standard filtering out 99-100% of harmful UV radiation in the wavelength range up to 400nm. They offer even more eye protection than the medical experts agree is needed for safety. Our sunglasses comply with US ANSI Z80.3 UV Protection Standards (European 89/686/EEC, Australian AS/NZS 1067:2003).
