Dianthus 'Double Gaiety Mix'
Dianthus heddeweggii
An old fashioned favorite with deeply frilled and sweetly scented blooms. These easy to grow plants produce beautiful masses of double flowers in shades of pink, red and white. Excellent for use in beds, borders, containers and rock gardens. Plants are long bloomers through summer and autumn and stems are excellent for fragrant, long-lasting and attractive cut flowers.
Sow in seedling trays (see our Plastic Seedling Trays) or seed beds. Cover with dry manure or compost about 6mm deep. Do not keep soil too moist during germination. When planting out space the rows 30cm apart with 25cm between plants. Remove spent blooms quickly to ensure a prolonged flowering period.
