One of the highlights of mid-summer is viewing Angel's fishing rod in full flower. Resembling a fishing rod, long, arching spikes rise above the 100 cm grass-like leaves, each one drooping under the weight of pendular pink bells. To get the full benefit of this trouble free plant, grow it in a sheltered spot in full sun.

Dierama latifolium is an evergreen perennial with grass-like leaves and in summer, it bears pendant pink or red, bell-shaped flowers, on slender, arching stems that move in the slightest breeze.
