One of the highlights of mid-summer is viewing Angel's fishing rod in full flower. Resembling a fishing rod, long, arching spikes rise above the 100 cm grass-like leaves, each one drooping under the weight of pendular pink bells. Dierama reynoldsii grows in medium to high-altitude grassland in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
