South African Artist now an AMERICAN ARTIST – BORN IN ITALY, "OUT OF AFRICA"

Dino Paravano - born in 1935 in Italy, lived in South Africa for 44 years, after immigrating there with his family in 1947. He began painting at an early age, initially encouraged by his father and subsequently attending the Johannesburg College of Art to further his studies. Ultimately he is mainly self-taught, having perfected his unique technique of using light, which is evident in all his paintings, and for which he is famous.
Dino travels extensively, in pursuit of subject matter, and during the years spent in South Africa it afforded him the privilege of viewing the animal and it's natural habitat, in diverse settings -- in all the National and private Game Reserves of the region. He came to the USA to explore the American scene. His work was so well receive that he began to travel to and from the USA on a regular bass, incorporating research of North American nature and wildlife, since the vibrant enthusiasm and competitiveness was an inspiration to his creative nature. He subsequently decided to move to the USA, where he achieved wider international recognition.

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum 1993 - Dino was presented with the prestigious title of MASTER WILDLIFE ARTIST - the 17th Master to be so honored. A most coveted prize in the Art fraternity, as this is awarded to the best wildlife Artists in the world.
In 1989 and 1991 Dino's paintings were chosen as "artwork of the month" by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum from their permanent collection.
His work is featured in museum, corporate and private collections in South Africa, UK, USA, Australia, Europe and the Orient. Including: Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Blauveld Art Museum, Bennington Center for the Arts, The Wildlife Experience, Kruger National Park, Mala-Mala, S. African Reserve Bank, Total Oil S. Africa, South African Broadcasting Corporation, Raymond James Financial, most S. African commercial banks etc.
