Young, two year old plants, grown from seed.
These interesting succulents from the Namaqualand region are winter-growers, and usually sprout from their caudex in February/March. They die back again during the heat of summer and should be rested during this period.
Watering; water regularly during winter but keep on the dry side in summer. When leaf-less during summer, do not leave the plant in hot direct sun, as this might "cook" the caudex.
Soil; not fussy, but should be well drained.
Exposure; Young plants do better in the shade, as the grow bigger, they start tolerating more sun.
Plants on sale here are still small, the caudex is the size of a R2 - R 5 coin.
