Infinity Bases are completely forward and backward compatible, but not interchangeable between all consoles.

Have Disney Infinity 1.0 for the Xbox 360 and now want to get Disney Infinity 3.0 for the 360 but don't want to buy a starter pack? The 1.0 Infinity Base will work just fine with the 3.0 software.

PlayStation and Wii Infinity Bases are interchangeable between consoles. Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Nintendo 3DS Infinity Bases are console specific.

Buy a PlayStation 3 Starter Pack? That base will work on PS3, PS4, Wii, or Wii U. Buy an Xbox 360 Starter Pack? That base will only work on Xbox 360 - it will not work on Xbox One or any other console.
