DIY Xbox 360 Mods. Including Firmware "Chipping"(Flashing)

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

-Preferably nForce or Via Chipset motherboard, for flashing the consoles DVD Drive. Other chipsets can work too, although nForce and Via are the most reliable. A PCI VIA VT6421A SATA card can be bought fairly cheap if you do not have open SATA ports,or your chipset is not working.

-T10 Torx screwdriver.

-Basic technical ability! ;)

Determine what drive your console has:

-I would not recommend trying to Flash a Liteon DVD Drive as it requires special tools as well as soldering skills. Newer Xbox 360's have Liteon DVD Drives(Elite and HDMI Models).The Samsung, Hitachi and Benq drives can be flashed easily with the software provided on the Xbox 360 Mods CD. You will need to take the Faceplate off your console and look at the pictures to determine what drive is in your console.

Look through the hole marked once the faceplate is off.

A Red and Black wire is a Samsung DVD Drive.

A Yellow wire is a Liteon DVD Drive.

If it is blocked like this and you can see no wires, it is a Hitachi DVD Drive.

2 White wires indicates it is a Benq DVD Drive.

Note:

All contents, softwares and tutorials, on the CD have been tryed and tested and known to work with Windows XP, Vista and 7. To "Do it Yourself" requires a basic technical skill and ability to follow instruction. You will also need a basic understanding of PC hardware to follow these instructions.

PLEASE do not Bid or Buy if you do not feel comfortable with disassembling your console. There are sellers on BidorBuy offering these services, probably using the software included on this CD. The software is freely available, although some is more difficult to use. I have put together a compilation of software that is easy to use and it works! Included on the CD are my sources for any additional information you may require.
