Documents & Paper relating to the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek
The documents are: -
"Volmag om Transport te Geven" (Potchefstroom 10 Ferbruarie 1898) & "Kwitantie van Heerenrecht" (21 Maart 1898).
The second document "Verklaring van den Kooper" is not in as good condition but what is very interesting is that payment of £400 was made to Christiaan Johannes Joubert and the land named "Buffelskloof" in the Waterberg district. The document was signed at Nylstroom on 17 July 1897. Christiaan Johannes Joubert (1834 - 1911) was a former member of the executive council and in 1885 elected as Vice State President of the South African Republic. According to Geni.com, the Jouberts owned a farm named "Buffelskloof" near Lydenburg in the Transvaal. The city of Johannesburg was named after Joubert and Johann Friedrich Bernhard Rissik.
Le Petit Journal dated 26 October 1902 depicting the arrival of the Boer Generals in Paris on the front page.
