Dogfight (Blu-ray)

River Phoenix and Lili Taylor star in this coming-of-age drama directed by Nancy Savoca. 18-year-old Lance Corporal Eddie Birdlace (Phoenix) is in San Francisco with three fellow Marines waiting to ship out to Okinawa before continuing on to Vietnam. He and his friends have arranged a competition where the winner will be the man who brings the most unattractive date to a bar that night and when Eddie meets Rose Fenny (Taylor), he invites her to join him.

When Rose uncovers the true nature of the invitation, she is devastated and leaves, but Eddie regrets his actions and pursues her, a decision which will change both of their lives. The cast also includes Richard Panebianco, Anthony Clark and Mitchell Whitfield.
