Description:
Low growing, mat-forming annual with fleshy, succulent, light green leaves and flattened daisy-like flowers, freely produced in summer, which close up in dull light.. The flowers were originally mostly rosy-red with white centres but are now available with a range of colours from white through yellow and buff to deep crimson.

Cultivation:
Frost-tender and can only be planted out when there is no risk of late frosts, performs best in hot, dry sunny conditions. Grow in sandy, low-fertility soil in full sun. Dead-head to encourage further flowering.

Propagation:
From seed sown in autumn

Good for dry, sunny banks or gaps in paving.
