The Drakenstein mountain opposite Aimonsberg Mountain named after ex military man and Colonial administrator of the East India Company, Hendrik Adriaan van Rheede tot Drakenstein is part of the Cape Fold Belt and are in the Western Cape. Drakenstein was also a generic name for the interior harking back to the earliest days of Dutch occupation.
