Absolutely gorgeous large flowering deciduous bonsai. Its bark is light brown that splits vertically and eventually peels and exfoliates. Arching vase like habit, very showy pink bell shaped flowers with yellow throat are borne in vast profusion in early spring. This upright, arching shrub prospers in dry, sandy, poor soil. It is an arching, spreading shrub, with graceful hanging branches. The foliage looks great all season long, dark green in spring and summer, turning reddish to yellow in autumn. This shrub will grow approximately 120-300 cm tall in open soil and looks great alone as a specimen plant or grown massed in groups. Beautybush transplants easily, does best in full sun to part shade and has no serious diseases or pests. Native to central China, it is hardy to -29°Celsius.
