This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting by South African Artist, Cherie Roe Dirksen.  

 

Painting Description and Inspiration:

 

"I was having a bit of a 'roller-coaster' ride this week — many emotional ups and downs.  On one of my low days, I decided to go for a walk on the beach which pulled me straight out of my melancholy mood.  I began to feel exhilarated again and went back to my studio with a renewed passion for being here.  
This painting is an expression of waiting for the storm to pass and for the trees to 'blossom' again — kind of like being in a funk or void but knowing that it will pass.  So I suppose this painting is about hope.
It's a very tactile painting with layers of intriguing layers of landscapes unfolding."
