DS3231 EXTREME PRECISION I2C RTC MODULE WITH AT24C32 EEPROM (INCL CR2032 LITHIUM BATTERY)

Product information
The DS3231 is a low-cost, extremely accurate I2C real-time clock (RTC) module with integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO). The board incorporates a battery backup which maintains accurate timekeeping in the event of main power supply disconnect. The integrated oscillator improves long-term accuracy of the device and reduces the number of components needed. A precision temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuit monitors the status of VCC to detect power failures, provides a reset output, and if necessary, automatically switches to the battery power supply. When the main power returns to within the allowable range, the on-chip reset function can be used to reset the system microprocessor

The RTC maintains seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The end of the month date will be automatically corrected (including corrections for leap year) for months with less than 31 days. The clock operates in 24 hours mode or AM / PM indication of the 12-hour format. The RTC module provides two configurable alarm clocks and a calendar can be set to a square wave output. Address and data are transferred serially through an I2C bi-directional bus. The module also includes an on-board AT24C32 EEPROM with 32K storage capacity that is also accessed via the I2C bus.
