Written in 1947 it not only focuses on servicemen, but also contains the stories of young South African women trapped in occupied Denmark who made successfull escapes to Sweden. The stories are all great and focuses on all services, the book was truly ahead of it's time and unlike other books written shortly after the war, is very accurate in detail and not filled with propaganda. Highly recommended if you can get your hands on a copy.  (Goodreads)
