DUNKIRK is so dramatic, moving and visually beautiful that few films from recent years can really compare to it. Director Nolan gets everything right in terms of how the film is made, technically and the perfect cast brings it to life so the emotional import is as strong as it deserves to be. All that without going to excesses in any scene. The film balances differing storylines, all centered around the events at Dunkirk, and never fails to deliver in each one. Everything works in this film. Even Nolan's great OPPENHEIMER can't compare in terms of conception and realization.
