Eris Silke was born in Hungary and grew up in Israel. Shes a self-taught artist, and has been painting since the age of five. She obtained a psychology degree from Witswaterstrand University (Johannesburg), and then moved to Cape Town. She has been practicing as a professional artist for forty years.
