This trio is breath taking. It is exquisite. The white dots on the blue
as well as the gold filigree is raised. The trio is in lovely condition,
although there is wear to the gilt on the handle as can be seen in
this photo.
This is the Komaru symbol. It means overcoming difficulties, which
refers to the differences in culture between the west and Japan
in the early 20th century. This symbol is also known as the
Tree Crest Mark. This stamp of Noritake seems to be from 1908 to the
late 1930's. A superb vintage piece, and a valuable one for the
collector.
The cup measures height 5.5cm, the length including handle is
12cm and the diameter is 9.5cm. The sauce is diameter 14cm and
the diameter of the side/cake plate is 16cm
