A wonderful little Thai Silver pig box, small enough to keep loose charms or a ring inside, and strong enough to protect these precious items. This little vintage silver box really stands out for its uniquely charming depiction of an animal. The box was hand hammered in a traditional technique known as repoussé. The hand-made work is really spectacular, as the silver gets hammered out to form the three dimensional body of the animal. Other details, such as fur, hair, teeth and animal textures have been meticulously rendered. The box is made of 90% silver, indicated by a stamp on the bottom, (T90) with the maker's mark in Khmer script (from Cambodia). It is approximately 0.5 troy ounces.
