Early 20th century “Vademecum” snake bit lance and Heynes Mathew Ltd Snake Bite Outfit

Snake bite lance is in a boxwood cylinder. Top section unscrews to open the lance.

Bottom section unscrews to hold a container of Perm Potash which is used to sterilise the wound after lancing. There are only traces of the Potash left. Approx. 8.5 cm long and 1.2cm diameter

 The Heynes Mathew Ltd Snake Bite Outfit contains:

Razor blade in original wrapping, bandage and what is possibly a tourniquet binding.

 

Tin is 8cm x 6cm x 2cm
