Early Alaska is a smooth variety pea, producing medium-sized light green pods. It is an excellent variety for canning and in soups. They are a cooler weather crop and should be started in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked or they can be started in mid autumn in warmer climates. They are vigorous growers; between 60cm to 75cm, prefer full sun, and do well in smaller gardens or where space is limited. Plants will benefit from regular-strength application of a balanced fertilizer when planting. Ready to harvest in about 58 days.
