Byzantine Empire. Anastasius I491-518 A.D. Bronze Follis 18.77g. Constantinople. Bust right. / Large M, cross above and two stars, CON below. Uneven strike, VF.

This is quite a rare coin and I have done a lot of investigation into the origins of it, it was struck in the latter days of the Roman Empire when Anastasius I was Emperor and their capital was Constantinople, you can read below further information on how he reformed Roman finances in the latter stages of the empire:

This exact coin has been collected and cataloged by the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and all the details of this coin are listed on their site, the quality of the coin I am selling is actually better than the one they have in the Museum:
