Early 'Copeland Spode' Teacup and Saucer (Y6682)
This lovely, early 'Copeland Spode' porcelain teacup and saucer are beautifully decorated with 'life-like' birds in their authentic colours, against a green turquoise background, with gold trim to the scalloped edges and handle. The cup is decorated with a 'Dickcissel' bird, and the saucer with a 'Pine Warbler', both on a small branch amongst leaves. The pair are in excellent condition, with no wear to the gilding, and each piece carries the 'Spode' backstamp in green, the birds name in brown, and a painted number 'Y6682' in red. The cup stands 6,3cm high, with the saucer having a diameter of 14,4cm.
