Lewcock, Ronald, A.A.Balkema, 1963

The present work is the result of the author's desire to stimulate interest in the period (early 19th C.); no other phase had such a complex architecture, involved such rapid changes of taste, or had greater ultimate significance, for during these years the unique character which has marked South African architecture ever since was established; 451pp.
Condition: the binding and contents are in very good condition, small owner inscription on f.f.e.p., and page edges a bit grubby. The cloth on the bottom hinge has a moisture-stain, and the jacket is very worn, chipped, rubbed, marked, and has areas of loss at both the head and foot of spine.
