This very collectable, framed, miniature 'Welsh' sampler, from the early 1800's, is in excellent condition for its age. It features several different motifs - flowers, hares, peacocks, birds, symbols and most interestingly a Welsh lady in traditional dress with what looks like the flag of 'Saint David' on her hat. They are all in various colours such as pale blue, white, copper, brown etc. It has been framed in a wide, solid wood frame, behind glass, with a gilt frame around the edge of the sampler, all of which are in excellent condition. There is some discolouration of the linen and fading of some colours, which is to be expected with age. The framed sampler measures 19.6cm x 19.4cm x 2.3cm and weighs 380g.
