An Earth-Leakage Auto-Recloser, is like a normal Earth-Leakage except it will close itself automatically after it has been tripped due to an earthing fault. 3 attempts will be made to close the breaker but if the earthing fault persists, it will not try again. This is useful to address nuisance tripping but at the same time, if there is a legitimate earthing fault, the unit will not endlessly attempt to close thus ensuring safety. Auto-Closing process: After a trip of the earth leakage, the auto-recloser will wait for 10s and then attempt to close itself for the 1st time. It also starts a 15m timer. If there is another trip within the 15m, the auto-recloser will wait for 60s to attempt to close itself for the 2nd time. If another trip happens within the 15m, the auto-recloser will wait 300s to attempt to close itself for the 3rd time. If there is a 4th trip, the auto-recloser will not attempt to close itself again. Any time there is more than 15m between reclosing operations the timer and closing attempts will reset.
