Jacob Ketel's eyewitness account chronicles the violent mutiny aboard the VOC ship Nyenburg in June 1763 near the Cape Verde Islands. German-led crew seized the vessel, murdering officers and redirecting course toward Brazil. Captured in Cayenne, the mutineers faced trial and execution upon return to the Netherlands.
