Charles Dickens' most beloved book, and the most autobiographical of all his novels.

The story follows the life of David Copperfield from childhood to maturity. Dickens focuses on orphans, women, and the mentally disabled to show that exploitation, not pity or compassion, is the rule in an industrial society. With a Preface by Charles Dickens. No illustrations. Typeface very small.

David Copperfield was first published as a serial in 1849-50, and as a book in 1850. No date in this book but probably published in the 1800s by W Nicholson & Sons, London, and Albion Works, Wakefield. Condition: Fair. Piece torn out of halftitle page. Inside hinges loose. Hardback cover have some rubbing at front and back. Spine worn.
