Efergy Engage Hub for monitoring sensors on your mains supply
The efergy range of products are marketed and supplied by Ellies in South Africa. However Efergy in the UK provide the support and host the servers that provide the features.
This device collects the transmissions from up top five of the Efergy transmitters that are connected to your mains upply and provide computer monitoring and presentation of the results. In the past a Hub only could handle one remote transmitter, but improvements to the system now allow the same hub to monitor up to five sensors.
We have two others of these units which we have been operating with our four transmitters on a solar system for the past year. We bought this additional unit to add to the network and then were told that the capabilities of our existing hubs had been extended to monitoir 5 transmitters each. Hence we are selling this unit which was only in use for one week.
How it works
The engage hubs are simple to install and use. A small sensor is clipped on to the supply cables in your breaker panel (not supplied in this kit). A lead from the sensor is connected to the efergy transmitter, which then wirelessly sends real time data to the home hub. The home hub is connected to your internet router via Ethernet cable. When you go online to the Efergy web portal or onto your smartphone app, the router wirelessly uploads your energy data and converts this data into kilo-watt hours. The web platform or app will then show you how much energy you are using in the same units that are on your bill. You can also see how much energy you are saving compared to other web platform users, compare energy saving tips, and set energy consumption targets.
