EGYPT AND SCARAB BEETLES:
Vintage Egyptian scarab beetles were powerful symbols representing life, regeneration, and rebirth, linked to the sun god Khepri  and the daily cycle of the sun.
The association with the dung beetle rolling a ball of dung across the ground mirrored the sun god Khepri rolling the sun across the sky, symbolizing daily rebirth and the hope for regeneration after death.
The beetle was the physical manifestation of Khepri, the god of the morning sun, who was responsible for bringing the sun back to life each day.The beetle was also seen as a symbol of creation itself, partly due to the apparent magical emergence of new beetles from the buried dung balls.
The scarab beetle represents the god Khepri, the aspect of the sun god Ra associated with the rising sun, creation, and rebirth. Khepri was often depicted as a scarab beetle, a man with a scarab for a head, or, in rare cases, a scarab with a human head emerging from its exoskeleton. Khepri and Ra are both significant sun deities in ancient Egyptian mythology, with Khepri often considered an aspect or manifestation of the more prominent god Ra. They represent different stages of the sun's daily cycle.
Initially, scarab beetles were used as seals to stamp documents and other objects, with administrative scarabs being used for authentication.Over time, especially during the Middle Kingdom, they evolved into ornamental amulets worn by people for protection and good luck.
Scarabs were often inscribed with the names of pharaohs and important events, serving as a form of historical record. Scarabs were made from a wide variety of materials, including stone, metals, and faience (a glazed, quartz-based ceramic).
Hieroglyphics are a writing system that uses pictorial symbols, most famously associated with ancient Egypt, to represent objects, ideas, and sounds. The term, meaning "sacred carvings," was used by the Greeks to describe the script on Egyptian monuments, which was distinct from the cursive hieratic and demotic scripts used for more common writings. The ancient Egyptians called their hieroglyphs "the words of the gods" because they believed the writing was divine in origin
