Great Results and the Motor only gets Warm.
These are amazing, the amount of air that gets moved by these little things is *HUGE*. I have no doubt that these exceed the 600g of thrust stated as the product title on 3S.
Using a Turnigy 60A esc, and 2500mah 21C 3S Zippy lipo I was only able to pull 35Amps.
With low timings on the ESC this wasnt able to progress past 60% throttle before stopping (about 28amps). Medium timings were slightly better - high timing being the best. A bit of End Point Adjustment on your radio should let you get "full throttle" without having the motor stall on you.
After running this at 90% throttle for 2 minutes on a bench the motor was warm to touch but not hot - quite impressive.
With the RPM's i've seen on 3S i'm scared to put it on 4S - i don't think you need to go that high.
This EDF unit for the price is amazing. With a 11.1V lipo pack,I am getting 590g thrust and at 14.8V I am getting 750g thrust. I use a 60 amp ESC. You can hand launch a 730g plane with this set up. Performance is better than advertized. I fly a F27 Striker I converted for EDF.
I was looking into getting EDFs and I came across these two videos on this thing with a 3s.. INSANE POWER!!!
