STRIKING OVAL-FACETED AMETHYST SOLITAIRE 10CT YELLOW GOLD RING. 375

This elegant solitaire piece features an oval-faceted amethyst of a particularly beautiful strong purple colour , claw set in 10ct yellow gold. The shank is simple polished gold, forking horizontally to support the elongated claws that hold the amethyst solitaire 5,5 mm above the finger. Openwork below the gemstone allows the light through. The pedigree of the piece is evident in the many hallmarks: the jeweller's signature, the Birmingham Assay mark, hallmarks for both 9ct yellow gold (375) and for 10k gold. The jeweller has used both. It bears the date hallmark for 2014 and is in excellent condition with no flaws or even buff marks to speak of. The ring head measures 7mm long x 4mm wide,  and weighs 1,6 grams. it is a size 7 (O in British and SA sizing). A beautiful and simple piece with lovely strong colours.
