MURANO GLASS: Murano glass is a specific style of glass that's handmade and is made with bold colors that are often layered in a technique that is called Sommerso that was developed by Murano master Antonio Da Ross in the 1930s. All Murano pieces are hand-blown glass or mouth-blown. There will likely be small imperfections, like air bubbles, because of the way the colors are layered.
These decorative glass pieces are made by Murano masters, or highly skilled glass artisans in Murano, Italy who use bright colors. Murano Islands: Murano is a series of islands linked by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. It lies about 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) north of Venice and measures about1.5 km (1 mi) across with a population of just over 5,000 (2004 figures). Itis famous for its glass making.
