 GORGEOUS VINTAGE SOLITAIRE SMOKEY QUARTZ 9CT YELLOW GOLD RING. A HEAVY 4,73g

This classic vintage piece features a beautifully faceted x carat smokey quartz in a bezel setting, raised 6mm above the finger. The vintage piece has slim 9ct rose gold shank that supports the 19mm x 14mm ring head. The jeweller has allowed light to catch the facets of the gemstone by leaving openwork underneath the ring head. The colour is warm and alive, filled with fire. A lovely feature is the twisted rope design in the frame around the bezel setting. The ring head is more of a yellow than the shank. The ring is in good condition and is well-pedigreed with the '375' hallmark indicating 9ct gold, the jeweller's signature and the Birmingham Assay mark. It also has the date mark for 1928 making it a wonderful piece of history. The piece has been authenticated and certified by an independent jeweller. Heavy at 4.73 grams, the ring shank itself is particularly solid. It is flat on the inside and rounded on the outside. The ring head is quite large at 19mm long x 14mm across so it is a substantial ring but it lies nice and flat on the finger. The colours are beautiful - rose gold always adds interest to vintage pieces and colours work well with the warm brown smokey quartz. She turns 90 years next year ... but her condition is excellent! Its a particularly elegant and special collectable piece of vintage England.
