Elf Tears cherry tomato x 10 seeds

The 'Elf Tears' tomato is a unique, indeterminate (vining) cherry tomato variety known for its distinctive long, pear or teardrop shape and sweet flavor. It is a high-yielding plant that produces abundant fruit on large, vigorous vines.

Key Characteristics
Shape and Color: The fruit is unusually oval/teardrop-shaped, often described as having a "long neck" or "bulbous pear end". They come in various colors, most commonly pink or red, and a "white" (yellow flesh with clear skin) variant also exists. The skin is thin and can appear slightly translucent.
Taste: The tomatoes are juicy, with a rich, pronounced sweet flavor and a pleasant, refreshing tang. The flavor becomes sweeter when fully ripe and grown in warm temperatures.
Plant Type: It is an indeterminate variety, meaning the plant will continue to grow, flower, and produce fruit throughout the entire growing season until frost. The vines can become quite large, sometimes growing up to 6 meters in a greenhouse, and require staking or support.
Size and Yield: The fruits are cherry-sized, typically weighing between 10 to 20 grams. Plants are highly productive, with bushes often "literally covered in fruit".
Uses: "Elf Tears" are versatile in the kitchen, excellent for eating fresh as a snack, in salads, or for canning and making ketchups. Their unique shape also makes them a decorative garnish.
Growing Tips
This variety can be grown in both open ground and greenhouses.
The dainty stems and leaves make it suitable for a hanging basket or shelf plant where the fruits can cascade.
The thin skin can be prone to cracking if the plant is overwatered.
It is a mid-early variety, with fruits maturing around 75 days after planting.
