  • Eli Kobeli was born in Kroonstad (Free State) in 1932. Passed away in May 1999
    Eli was a painter of urban life, figures and abstract pictures. He studied under the American missionary, Reverend Hall Duncan and Cecil Skotnes at the Polly Street Art Centre in Johannesburg.
    He worked in oils, gouache (method of painting in opaque pigments ground in water and thickened with a glue-like substance), watercolour and pastel.
