IN 1975 THE EM ESS SILVERWARE Pty Ltd, ISANDO WAS THE LARGEST PRODUCER OF SILVER PLATE AND SILVERWARE IN SOUTH AFRICA. THE BUSINESS HAD BEEN PURCHASED IN 1948 BY JULIUS MARTIN. THE COMPANY IS BELIEVED TO HAVE CEASED PRODUCTION

THIS LOT CONSISTS OF AN EM ESS SILVER PLATED SUGAR BOWL WITH A TRUMPET SHAPED PEDESTAL BASE WHICH HAS A ROLLED EDGE. THE SUGAR BOWL IS FITTED WITH A PAIR OF TWIN SCROLL HANDLES. THE ITEM IS STAMPED UNDERNEATH - "EM ESS, SP ON B" IT IS IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH NO RUST, DENTS, DAMAGES ETC AND ONLY A VERY LIGHT PATINA FORMING.

TOGETHER WITH THE SUGAR BOWL IS A VINTAGE SHEFFIELD MANUFACTURED APOSTLE SUGAR SPOON. THE ITEM IS HANDLE STAMPED - "EPNS, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND" LIGHT PATINA OTHERWISE IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH NO RUST, DAMAGES ETC
