Emperor Pig Carrying a Ham- Antique Majolica Jug Pitcher French

This is a rare and unusual Pig Carrying a Ham- Antique Majolica Jug Pitcher. The jug is molded in the form of a pig dressed as a Roman Emperor with a laurel crown and a ham hanging from a blue ribbon on the pink sash/ belt. The handle is made of laurel leaves entwined.

The modeling, decorating, and glaze are well done: mostly pink background decorated with blue, red, green, and brown accents.The snout forms the spout.

The base is glazed with FBC2 the rim foot is unglazed.

This Pig Carrying a Ham Antique Majolica Jug Pitcher is in very good condition. Condition status includes minimal normal wear and rubbing, glaze losses, firing flaws, crazing and fretting. Please note its snout has had restoration done on it. This item is sold as is, as described. Please see all photos which are a part of this description
