Hard water is the result of having high mineral content, usually calcium and magnesium ions. Testing is the best way to deal with water hardness before installation. If you do have a specific issue such as iron, an iron filtration system should be installed. The warranty for this product does not cover any malfunction as a result of lime scale build up from hard water.
