Emzini Wezinsizwa is about Mofokeng, Chawe, Mkhize, Magubane and Chirwali, five men from different backgrounds, different ethnic groups but roommates from the same room, Room 8, in a hostel situated in the heart of a township.
Being migrant workers, Room 8 is "home away from home" for the five men. The different languages spoken in this comedy is the soul of the whole plot.
Being of Sotho, Xhosa and Zulu origin, the five friends get into hilarious situations through their communication and miscommunication with their colleagues at work, fellow hostel inmates and of course among themselves.
In the five popular Emzini Wezinsizwa episodes on this 120 minute DVD the mates go to a Gym where they get more than they bargained for; they buy a stolen bicycle; they are confronted by a ghost; two scoundrels target Room 8 to sell them utensils of doubtful origin and in the last episode it is Christmas and time to go home for a visit. For Chirwali home is too far and he is unable to go.
The programmes are recorded in a mixture of the Sotho and Nguni languages.
