A set of board games that are cased in what looks like a book. It even has a first few pages but then opens into a deck of different small board games. Made by "ES Lowe", a games maker from New York, who were the makers of the game Yahtzee and also a big plastic and wood chess set maker.
The set contains the games Chess, Checkers, Cribbage, Backgammon, Acey-Ducey, Dice, Poker Chips. Note the chess pieces and everything else is all on a 23x16x2.5cm tray. The chess board is tiny and the pieces are plastic. The volume of space in the book below the board of games contains coasters, unused and space for playing cards. The makers describe it as a hospitality compartment. Allthough hard to date exactly the copyright on the instruction leaflet specifies 1944. The book or games set is marked as a limited edition and a first edition Copyright 1945 and First Edition 1945.
Dimensions: 26x18x7cm
Weight: 0.9kg
Condition: Good condition. The set does not seem to be used and the coasters under the games board are still in the cork mat. The outer casing or "book cover" has some wear. Please see below for details.
